Well Fall has definitely fallen, and even though I'm not that excited about the season that will be coming after this one, I can still enjoy the current cooler temperatures and the things I enjoy about them. Like cozy sweaters, hot chai tea, fireplaces, and . . . apple orchards! Here are some pix of our outing a couple week ago, and below I've added a few random videos just for fun (and because we've got the cutest kiddo around!)
Of course we had to get a cousin pic, they're just so adorable!
She was OBSESSED with the apples! and ever since we went here, whenever she sees apples in the kitchen she has to have one. She just likes to bit off all the skin and have us take it out of her mouths . . .crazy kid!
So I didn't get the best shot of the food, but there were sliced apples with hot caramel sauce . . AH-MAZING! Serious deliciousness, we will be going back for sure!
Overall it was a super fun outing. There were some goats to pet, they had a little john deere tractor area for kids where they could pedal around on mini tractors, it was cute. A tractor ride on hay bails, and lots and of apple trees and even grape vines. Then there was an adorable big red barn where you could buy apple everything. We stuck with the apple slices with Caramel, hot apple cider and some fresh apple donuts. All three choices were delish!
On another note, it was our 6 YEAR anniversary! Can you believe it? I can barely believe it myself. It's flown by, but at the same time it feels like forever ago when we were students at BYU-I, so I guess I'm torn. Well for our 6 yr anniversary we went out for a 6 course meal! Once again, I'm gonna go with AH-MAZING! If you know me, you know my love for food. I could just eat for the rest of my life and be happy. I wouldn't have to put any effort into becoming two to three hundrend pounds . . thats how much food and I love eachother. So in combination with my love for food, I'm also kind of cheap. But Living Social hooked us up! It was only $30 per person for the 6 course meal at Grecco's on the St. Croix River. Our courses were as follows:
1st - greens tossed in an herb vinagrette with toasted almonds, gorgonzola and granny apples
2nd - wild mushroom risotto with crispy bacon and parmesan
3rd - grilled swordfish on israeli couscous in a butternut squash sauce
4th - grilled pork loin in a yellow curry on top of cilantro rice
5th - crusted beef tenderloin with herb mashed potatoes in a veal glaze
6th - cinnamon swirl bread pudding with a citrus glaze
YUM-O! It was a really nice dinner together, and no - we're not pigs. It was a tasting menu, so the plates were small. I pretty much finished all the courses, except the dessert, it was disappointing. Then we went to see Cavalia today as our anniversary treat, it was incredible! Like cirque du soleil, but add 42 horses! Craziest coolest show I've ever seen!
Ok, so onto some cutie pie videos. Harlow is getting so big it's crazy. She just climbed up the stairs for the first time today. I think since she never crawled she doesn't know what her knees are because she goes up leg first. Picture her little baby legs, not bending at all, just going from one leg to the other - it's hilarious but it works! I don't have a video of that yet - I'll put it on my to do list for this week.
This first video is the cutest/funniest, but it's a little long. She's going to be such a good mommy (assuming she doesn't run over her kids!)
This is just some fun swinging, sorry for the bad filming. I was also the swing pusher, she's so cute in her beads!
More park videos - she loves the slides!
